We started the day with brunch at
The Breakfast Club, a cute little café that serves big and hearty meals. I had the
chorizo hash browns and a some hot chocolate since it was quite cold that morning.

Afterwards, Ange took us around Camden Passage a bit then we headed to the Embankment station to catch the Sherlock Holmes tour. We joined the tour of
London Walks, which are great and convenient walking tours. You don’t have to book ahead; simply check the schedule of the tour you want to attend and show up at the assigned tube station. Walks cost £9 for adults and £7 for students.
Our guide was a sweet old woman, with a surprisingly loud and clear voice, and an admirably extensive knowledge of Arthur Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes. I’m always amazed by how tour guides can remember so much information. She gave a great tour - we learned a lot about Arthur Conan Doyle: his life and his inspirations for Sherlock Holmes, and we also visited several places that were featured in various stories. It was a really interesting tour which ended in a restaurant that had a replica of Holmes’ study.
After the tour we met up with my aunt who lives in London for some tea and catching up (and an early dinner), then headed to the Phoenix Theatre to watch
Once (Tony Award winner for Best New Musical (and based on the 2006 movie of the same name)). The play was amazing and the songs so beautiful.
