Day 100-102: San Francisco

From L.A. it was off to San Francisco! We had an early 8am flight, though we had to leave at around 5:30 since we were coming from Anaheim. Our flight ended up being delayed, but we made it okay to San Francisco (and took a nap the rest of the morning). We had a late lunch at In-N-Out Burgers! And then spent the rest of the afternoon shopping at Target. :)

The next day we drove to Tracy which was quite far (a little over an hour without traffic) to surprise Tisha for her birthday.

On Sunday we headed to the city after mass in the morning. We had lunch at Umami Burgers. We had truffle cheese fries and the truffle burger. De. Li. Cious.

Then we walked to Ghirardelli Square in the Fisherman's Wharf area and tried some of that famous Ghirardelli ice cream.

We spent the afternoon lounging around in the Square and then walked around Fisherman's Wharf.

Saw the Golden Gate Bridge from the pier. Unfortunately it was a pretty foggy day so we didn't make it to the park to get a better view.

The infamous Alcatraz.

Boats and the city in the background
We walked along the pier to Pier 39, home of the famous California Sea Lions. They were so cute and funny to watch.

Walking back to the car we spotted some trolleys. We didn't ride, but we snapped some pictures.

After dinner, Tasha's cousin and her husband took us across the bridge to Fenton's Creamery, a really popular ice cream restaurant. The place was packed and we had to wait a bit for a table.

So worth it though. The ice cream was delicious and served in big portions! We shared some coffee cookie dream ice cream with peanut butter fudge sauce.

And then before heading back home we drove to a view point to get a lovely view of the bridge and city lights. This is actually Bay Bridge and not the Golden Gate which wasn't lit up because of the fog.
