Rain or shine in Segovia

This morning, Bel met us at the apartment before we headed off to Segovia. She told us that we had to leave a bit earlier because we had to find a place to print out our bus tickets. But as we were getting ready to go, Bel couldn't find her usb. She looked all over but to no avail. So we had to go online, find the tickets in her email, then I had to transfer them to my phone. This took up a good deal of our time so we hurriedly rushed out of the apartment. Then as we were walking to the metro stop, Bel finds her usb in some secret pocket in her jeans. (Pla pla talaga.)

But anyway, we rushed and took the metro to the bus station. When we got there, we were able to talk to the vendor and he printed out our bus tickets for us. We boarded the bus and were on our way to Segovia.

We were expecting the bus ride to be two and a half hours, but for some reason it only took us about an hour and ten minutes to get there! Maybe because it's a holiday and there was no traffic?

Segovia is just as beautiful as I remembered it. Truly one of my favorite "smaller" Spanish cities. We took some pictures with the Aqueducts and got a map from the tourist office. Since we had some time before lunch, we decided to go to the Cathedral first.

Just a side note: Bel and I had been to Segovia before. But the last time we were here (with our cousins on our Eurotrip) we did nothing but eat and take pictures. Haha! So this time around, we decided to go inside the Cathedral.

The cathedral

After touring the Cathedral (I unfortunately left Bel's coat inside. I went back in but it disappeared. :(), we looked for a place to have lunch. We found a nice bar in a street a little off Plaza Mayor. We ordered some tapas then just shared them: chorizo, patatas bravas, gambas, and what I had been desperately craving -- tortilla de patata!

Happy moment -- me with my tortilla de patata (I shared it, okay)

We then walked to the Alcazar. This time around, we went inside and took some pictures. After the Alcazar, we walked along the walls of the city. I think it's really interesting how a lot of Spanish cities are built within walls.

Gomez sisters reunited!

The view from one of the windows in the Alcazar. Gorgeous, isn't it?

We headed back to the bus station at around 4:00. We still had two hours before our bus but we tried to change our ticket to an earlier time. Unfortunately, since we bought our tickets online, we could only change them online. We looked for an internet place, but everything was closed -- Spanish siesta time. All the shops reopen at 5pm!

We just decided to walk around a bit and talk. It started to rain after awhile so we just went back to the bus station and waited there. Boo, but at least it didn't rain while we were touring the city.

Back in Madrid we went to buy our train tickets for tomorrow (to Toledo!) and for Seville. We then split up. Ange went to meet a friend and I went to Bel's dorm. So no pictures tonight because the camera is with Ange.

Toledo tomorrow!

Edit: Updated with pictures :-)
