After jam-packed outings in London and two days of traveling to Brasil, it's nice to be able to relax and take it slow here in Belo.
Monday morning, Tita Mona brought me to the Mercado Central (Central Market) in Downtown Belo. It's a huge indoor market that sells everything you need - fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood, spices, flowers, handicrafts, instruments, pets, toys, clothes, slippers, etc. You name it, they most probably have it!
The market is surprisingly organized; all the meats in one sections, cheese in another, etc. Plus the paths are not as narrow as most other markets I've been to, with ample space to move around.

No Brazilian marketplace is complete without Havaianas. On the right in the picture below, national team designs of the slippers for the World Cup, of course.
Speaking of the World Cup,
everything is decorated in Brazil's colors green and yellow, and almost every other store is selling decorations.

The next morning, I had some pão de sal and jabuticaba jam for breakfast. Pão de sal is soft bread, much like our pandesal. Jabuticaba jam is made from the jabuticaba fruit, a berry native to southeastern Brasil (São Paulo and Minas Gerais). It was really yummy and not too sweet.
Went out exploring in the morning and afternoon. I made my way to a nearby park, about a 15 minute walk from the house.

It was a small park that had a jogging lane, so I jogged around for an hour.
