For our last day in Lima (and in Peru), we headed to the city center since we didn't get to check that part out last time. We took a local bus to the city center and got off at Plaza San Martin.

From there we walked up to Plaza de Armas. We passed
Jiron de la Union, a long pedestrian street that's sort of like an outdoor mall. Lots of shops on either side.

Plaza de Armas, the spot were Lima was founded. Not as beautiful as Cusco's, but still very pretty.

After having lunch we walked to the Parque de la Muralla, which was supposed to be a nice park with remains of the old city walls of Lima...
...but it wasn't very impressive.
We spent the day just walking around, looking at the historic sites, posing with some alpacas.
In the late afternoon, we took the metro bus to
Barranco, a barrio in the south. We just walked around really, but it was a foggy day, not too many beautiful sights. Would love to go back to Peru in the summer when the skies are blue; it must be beautiful at that time.
Peru was really tiring - moving from one city to another every/every other day + looooong bus rides, some train rides, colectivo rides, taxis + our maletas getting left behind in Santiago on our first day - but
so much fun. Absolutely loved this country!
